This Year’s Successes
We worked with tons of stellar clients over this last year, which was our best ever for successful Kickstarters!
Quests and Cannons is a nautical fantasy adventure from Short Hop Games. Players step onto the decks of their ships as Champions searching for a way to save their homelands from disaster, completing Quests, discovering Clues, and trading cannon fire along the way! We contributed card designs, rules writing and layout, and tuned up the original illustrator’s fantastic imagery for clarity and print readiness across the entire project.
This modern-day fantasy adventure follows the events of the Librarians TV show in a series of card-based campaigns. We designed the cards, tokens, packaging, and rulebook for this exciting adventure. Everything Epic is a frequent partner of ours, and you can look forward to several more of our joint projects coming later this year!
Bat Flip is a two-player team-shuffling card game in which players step into the cleated shoes of rival baseball managers. Each manager selects two teams and shuffles them together, Smash Up style, to create a single mega-team with a combination of powers. This was a full-service project for Scorelander Games with card, rules, and packaging design, in addition to a Kickstarter campaign and rules writing services.
This offbeat adventure game drops you into a funky fantasy world as a reluctant human hero. You’ll befriend bizarre beasts, wield weird weapons, and try your best to steal the life-giving Kabula tree. We designed components and packaging for this project, and also contributed rules writing and mechanical design that the fine folks at Stranger Games Studio used to create their ingenious Part system for powering player actions.
Chronos Builder is a map-making utility with robust autobuilding options and multiple tilesets, allowing designers and game masters to quickly create the dungeons of their dreams. In addition to writing and graphics for the Kickstarter campaign, we’re also producing interface graphics and collaborating on features and UX for this ongoing project. Look for the Steam release later this year, and keep your eye out on more projects from Mistwall Studios that we have in the works together!
New designer Kyle Nam Pham has created a dastardly corporate social deduction game. Two Executives compete for control of the Shareholders’ votes, while Infiltrators try to sink the talks so neither of them win. We contributed packaging design and rulebook layout to this project, as well as a snappy overhaul of the rules writing complete with handy flowcharts for the many possible player roles.
Floating Floors transports you to a world of ninjas, where you’ll need dexterity and strategy in equal measure to navigate the tumbling surface of the board. Players prop up the floor tiles of the game with wooden Jutsus and attempt to move their ninja pieces across them, but must be wary: if a tile becomes unbalanced and falls, they give their opponent a free turn! We created graphics for the titular Floors and their terrain bases for this incredibly clever game from designer Takashi Sawada and publisher GUF Studios.
